Episode 16, “The Social Contract”

-Andrew For America discusses the social contract and the social contract theorists, and then plays a clip from the last speech by JFK.

Show Notes:

Many my fellow Americans need help with understanding what the Social Contract is and who the Social Contract Theorists were. The Social Contract is important to understand because it is part of the foundation by which a free society is based. Today, I will introduce who the social contract theorists were and what they believed in.

In today's episode, I go in-depth about how my fellow Americans can benefit from understanding The Social Contract and who the Social Contract theorists were…John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, and Jean Jacque Rousseau.

I thought this was important to talk about in this episode because I wanted to refresh my audience's memory about concepts that we all should have learned in high school.

Here's what you'll learn in this episode:

  • What is the "social contract?"

  • Who were the social contract theorists?

  • Why is it important to know?

  • Andrew plays JFK's final speech to the press corps, and sadly…to America.
